Nominated: Art Challenge on Facebook

I was nominated today on Facebook by Christina Ilene Thomas for the 5/5/5 art challenge which consists of:

5 artworks/ over 5 days/ nominating another artist each day

Many thanks to Christina for nominating me.

Today, on Day 1, I nominate the accomplished sculptor, Gilda Bronzé.  Her work is wonderfully complicated and far reaching.

The figures are mounted on a piece of wildfire burned Manzanita bush I found in the chaparral area around my avocado ranch.

The Manzanita is mounted in a base of concrete made to look like stone or burnt earth.  The figures are flame colored and the shadows the figures cast are dark, adding to the urgent and burnt wildfire theme.

The sculpture is shown here poolside at the San Diego Artist Retreat.
