Sculpture Workshop February 2016

A reminder, my fine art sculpture workshop starts in less than two weeks. The class is for adults to learn how to create three-dimensional representations of the human figure.  All experience levels are welcome. Instruction is tailored to individual goals. Participants may choose to make a representational (realistic) or abstract figure.

Here are some examples:

As background, I have a number of awards for my sculpture including First Place in Ceramics at the San Diego County Fair, Del Mar, Fine Art Exhibit (4th largest fair in North America) and my life-size sculptures have in the past, and are presently on exhibit at the San Diego Botanic Garden, Encinitas, CA.

Instruction includes:

  • Proportion, balance, movement, emotion, surface
  • Technical methods
  • Tool use
  • Sculpture critique
  • Firings included
  • Patina instruction

My sculpture workshop is held the first 3 Saturdays in February (Feb 6, 13, 20) from 9:30am to 1:30pm at the Fallbrook School of the Arts, Ceramic Studio, 310 East Alvarado Street, Fallbrook, CA 92028.

If you must miss one of the three classes or if your piece is not finished at the end of the workshop, a make up class is available at the instructor’s mountaintop avocado ranch studio in Fallbrook at no additional charge.

To register call the school 760-728-6383 or sign up online at Fallbrook School of the Arts.

Clay can be purchased in class. Call Julia at 408-395-3335 for items provided and items to bring.

It has been my experience that sculpture produced in the presence of other sculptors is of higher quality and the creative experience is more gratifying. I would love to have you join us!
