Spirit Series Sculpture – Day 2
For Day 2, I am sharing the most recent work from my Spirit Series “Tethered Spirit”. This sculpture represents a phase of a spirit’s passage where it is rising up but grounded by man made industrial wreckage – still tethered to the past.

The sculpture is ceramic mounted on a found broken aluminum framework in a manner that is well balanced but creates tension.

The English word spirit, from Latin spiritus “breath”, but also “spirit, soul, courage, vigor”, most of them relating to a non-corporeal substance contrasted with the material body. The word spirit is often used metaphysically to refer to the consciousness or personality.
