For Day 5, I am sharing a work from my Fashion Series “Chopper Chick”. I was inspired by the outfits and characters of the chopper bike crowd (I am a motorcyclist as well but am in the road racer/drag strip crowd).
My Fashion Series sculpture is shown today for the 5/5/5 art challenge which consists of:
5 artworks/ over 5 days/ nominating another artist each day
Day 1 – Accomplished sculptor, Gilda Bronzé. Her work is wonderfully complicated and far reaching.
Day 2 – Manuelita Brown, creates eclectic and authentically personal bronze figurative and portrait sculpture.
Day 3 – Scott Bruckner, an accomplished wood sculptor who focuses on contemporary shapes.
Day 4 – Marta Hotell, a contemporary metal sculptor extraordinaire.
Fashion Series Sculpture – Day 4
For Day 4, I am sharing a work from my Fashion Series “Cirque” referring to Cirque du Soleil. She is a large 17 inch tall ceramic sculpture. “Cirque” has a bright patina radiating like the sun – Cirque du Soleil, translated literally means the circus of the sun.
Cirque evolved out of thoughts of creating a figure that would be entertaining, wild, acrobatic, colorful, and flashing a Cirque du Soleil headdress and costume.
My fine art sculpture workshop starts this Saturday, there are one or two slots available. You may drop-in the first day and sign up at that time.
If you must miss one of the three classes or if your piece is not finished at the end of the workshop, a make up class is available at the instructor’s mountaintop avocado ranch studio, the San Diego Artist Retreat, in Fallbrook at no additional charge.
The class is for adults to learn how to create three-dimensional representations of the human figure. All experience levels are welcome. Participants may choose to make a representational (realistic) or abstract figure. See examples on my website FineArtSculpt.
A reminder, my fine art sculpture workshop starts in less than two weeks. The class is for adults to learn how to create three-dimensional representations of the human figure. All experience levels are welcome. Instruction is tailored to individual goals. Participants may choose to make a representational (realistic) or abstract figure.
Here are some examples:
